What fits Who now?

So far, there's three different pullip bodies, and most of them are grossly different from each other. Add to that your standard replacement volks and obitsu bodies, and you can go through a pile of clothes just to find one piece that fits. I have a lot of clothes, but I don't have everything! If you would like to add your own experience with a brand of doll clothes, email me.

* nothing fits
** a few articles fit
*** hit and miss
**** most fit
***** everything/almost everything fits!

On Volks bodies, if it fits any pullip body, assume it fits volks. These things are magic.

On Obitsu bodies, see Type 3 ratings for pants/skirts and tops as well for small busted bodies. On large busted bodies... you're on your own for shirts. Stretchy is your best bet.

Barbie (Old body/hourglass figure and silkstone)

Type 1: Type 1 seems to be the right proportions here, but a little too small. Velcro fashions can be easily tightened but strappy tops may need to be resewn. Tops with sleeves do well but can be a little long. Pants can be a bit baggy and long. Dresses are hit or miss. No shoes fit. ***

Type 2: A little tight throught the tummy, a little loose through the chest. Strappy tops do not do well but shirts with sleeves are pretty good, though most tailored non-stretchy sleeves will not fit because Barbie has stick arms. Pants/skirts may be tight through the waist but are overall pretty good. Most dresses fit. No shoes fit. ****

Type 3: Some really stretchy tops/bottoms can be coaxed into fitting, as can bottoms but it's more hit than miss if you want them to look good. Sleeves and legs are long on Type 3. Shoes are 50-50, though honestly barbie shoes rarely fit my barbies when I was a kid. ***

Barbie (New body)

Type 1: Though less structurally similar than old barbie clothes, new barbie clothes have a lot more stretch to them and if only because of that are more likely to be coaxed into fitting. Long sleeves still usually go past the hands. Shoes do not fit unless you have flat-footed althletic barbie shoes. ****

Type 2: Almost all clothes fit, but are a little loose. Usually this can be corrected by just overlapping the velcro a bit. My Scene shoes fit if you remove the feet, flat-footed athletic barbie shoes fit. *****

Type 3: Most things will fit, but be very, very baggy. Tops can be particularly bad, bucketing out over the 'breasts'. About 60% of strappy shoes fit, and My Scene shoes all fit. ***

Skipper Clothes

Type 1: Shirts can be a little tight or not fit through the chest depending on fabric. Pants do pretty good. Most skirts and dresses fit, shoes do not. ****

Type 2: Shirts can be a little tight or not fit, pants can be a little tight or not fit, skirts and dresses are usually good. Shoes do not fit. ****

Type 3: Most things fit and fit well, including shoes. ****

Type 3: Most things fit and fit well, including shoes. ****

Ken (all incarnations including My Scene boys)

Namu/Taeyang: All clothes fit. Some can be baggy, but I think that's the style. Some soft rubberey shoes fit, but you have to slit them down the back mostly. Be careful, ankles are the weak spot on this body and will break. ****

Lollipop Girls
(now found on the internet only)

Type 1: Pants and skirts fit, but pants are a little long. Most tops fit, but some could be a little strained through the chest, and the few tops made from non-stretchy material are mostly miss. All shoes fit! ****

Type 2: Mostly too tight. Some stretchy things will fit, pants will mosty fit so long as you don't mind them not closing at the back. All shoes fit ***

Type 3: All tops fit, pants fit but are long. All shoes fit.*****

Modern 12" Action Figures (GI Joe, Elite Force, etc)

Namu/Taeyang: All clothes fit. Most shoes fit. *****

60 cm Ball-Jointed dolls

All Types: Hats and head accessories (glasses, earmuffs, etc) fit. All clothes do not fit. **

Dollar Store outfits
(low quality knockoff no-name brand clothes)

Type 1: Most of these clothes are made to fit old or new bodied barbies with the same results on how well they fit pullips. Shoes are more hollow and are more likely to fit.****

Type 2: Most of these clothes are made to fit old or new bodied barbies with the same results on how well they fit pullips. Shoes are more hollow and are more likely to fit.****

Type 3: Most of these clothes are made to fit old or new bodied barbies with the same results on how well they fit pullips. Some shoes fit.***

Type 1: Some really stretchy shirts will fit. That's about it.**

Type 2: Some really stretchy shirts will fit. Boots will fit if you take off the feet.**

Kari Mitchell & Designer's Choice
(a high quality knockoff brand that is slightly smaller than barbie clothes. The only problem is that some clothes are designed to go over the head)

Type 1: Most tops fit. Pants and skirts fit better than barbie brand. More dresses fit than do not. Shoes do not fit.****

Type 2: Most tops fit. Some pants/skirts can be a little on the tight side but are generally good. More dresses fit than do not. Shoes do not fit. ****

Type 3: Most things fit. Shoes fit.*****

Takara Jenny
(I don't have much Takara)

Type 1: Most tops/pants/skirts fit but are a little loose through the waist and can be long in the sleeve/ankle. SOME shoes fit, but it's more miss than hit.****

Type 2: Most tops/pants/skirts fit but are a little loose. Or a little too tight. SOME shoes fit.****

Type 3: Most things fit but will be baggy. More tops fit than with Barbie, but I haven't seen as many of the strappy/cleavage revealing shirts in Takara brand. Most shoes fit.***

Volks 1/6 scale clothes

Type 1: Most tops/bottoms will be slightly loose, but usually not so much that it is ugly or a problem. Some boy shoes fit. *****

Type 2: Good fit! Volks seems to have very similar dimensions to type 2. Some bottoms can be a little tight, but overall a good fit. Some boy shoes fit.*****

Type 3: Most things fit but will be baggy, especially tops. Most shoes fit.****

Namu/Taeyang: Volks boys are slightly smaller than Namu, but overall the clothes are a pretty good fit since guys usually have a straight cut to their clothes anyway. Shoes don't fit so well. ****

Azone

Type 1: Like most japanese brands, slightly smaller so a pretty good fit with tops/bottoms/dress sets. Much more tailored than most clothes though so there isn't as much bagginess. I haven't come across any shoes that fit yet.****

Type 2: Most tops/pants/skirts fit but are made for a more shapely doll so it's a little um.. bulky but not loose in some tops/dresses. Skirts fit great. Ditto for type 1 shoes.****

Type 3: Most things fit but will be baggy. Honestly, I haven't tried much azone on type 3 dolls so I could use a second opinion.****

Type 2: Tops/bottoms fit well. Dresses fit pretty good. Shoes do not fit. *****

Type 3: Tops are a bit baggy but can be managed to fit, as can most skirts. Dresses do not fit. Much too loose. Shoes mostly fit. ***

Namu/Taeyang: Guys are the same size as Ken, so I'm assuming most things will fit, though I only have one male outfit. That didn't come with shoes. *****(?)

Flavas
(gangsta style Barbie line no longer made)

Type 1: Everything fits. Even shoes.*****

Type 2: Everything fits. Even shoes. *****

Type 3: Pants/skirts fit. Tops can be a little loose. Dresses do not exist. Shoes do not fit. ****

Namu/Taeyang: Everything fits, including shoes, BUT they're all make purposefully baggy and oversized. I even had a pair of pants that had boxers sewn in above the 'waist line'. *****

Wee 3 Friends/Best Friends 4-ever

Type 1: Tops, skirts, and dresses all fit great. Pants fit spectacularly through the hip, but are high waders. Shoes are a little big, but fit.*****

Type 2: Tops, skirts, and dresses all fit but are a little tight. Pants are a little tight and may not fit and become capris. Sleeves come up short. Shoes are a little big, but fit. ****

Type 3: All clothes fit decently well, but pants are a bit short. Shoes are way too big, even with socks. ****

Ever Girl
(I don't know if this was a one-shot doll or if more will be made)

Type 1: Tops and pants/skirts fit! A little loose/tight depending on the area, but they definitely fit. All shoes fit.*****

Type 2: Tops and pants/skirts fit perfectly. All shoes fit. *****

Type 3: Tops and pants fit! Some shoes fit if you put on socks first.****

Bleeding Edge Goths

Type 1: Tops and bottoms are a bit large, but dresses can be finagled to work. Sleeves/legs are a bit long. Almost all shoes fit..***

Type 2: Tops and bottoms are a bit large but most can be adjusted if they are velcro. About half fastens with snaps though, so you'd have to reset them yourself. Sleeves/legs are a bit long but manageable, and Dresses usually work (but stain! so colorfast them). Almost all shoes fit.***

Type 3: Forget it. It looks like little girl wearing her mama's clothes. The few shoes that don't fit type 1 and 2 fit type 3.**
