Penny: Valentine, can I talk to you for a minute?


Valentine: Hi Penny, sure! What's up?


Penny: It's Chris. I haven't seen or heard from him in almost a week! I'm worried! Has he been around here?
Valentine: I saw him last Sunday night. I was getting ready to go out with Eric.


Penny: And?
Valentine: He seemed a little distracted. Not upset or hurt or anything. Maybe he went home to visit his sister in the hospital.


Penny: But what if something happened to him?
Valentine: If you want I can ask Ash about him.
Penny: Could you?

Ravish: This place is weird...


Ravish: Hello? Anybody here?

 


Penny: Thanks Valentine, let me know if you hear from him, ok?


Valentine: Of course I will! He's probably fine, really.

 


Ravish: ...I know I have spurned you in the past, and for that I am sorry. But I have faith that you can help me in my hour of need.


Ravish: I'm a horrible person! Ms. Ash paid me to date Miss Penny to get her confidence back, but I love Miss Valentine! I need to get Miss Penny to dump me without hurting her feelings!

Ravish: If you can help me I'll do whatever you ask.


Nightshade: Hmmm....


Nightshade: Well, if you're going to ask me so nicely, sure, why not?
Ravish: Oh thank you!


Nightshade: But in return one day I will ask a favor of you. That day may never come, but if it does you must do it without question. Or I'll tell Valentine.

 


Eric: Hi Valentine, you wanted something?
Valentine: Eric! I wanted to ask you about the work Ash is having Chris do...
Eric: Sure. I'll tell you what I know...


Eric: Oh, look, your lamp got knocked over, let me get that for you.


Valentine: No Eric, don't!


Eric: Don't what?
Valentine:...


Himemiya: Hi there, handsome! How can I fulfil your desires?
Eric: ...where did you come from?


Valentine: She's a genie, Eric. But don't wish for anything! Himemiya, Eric's not human! He's made of metal.
Himemiya: I can see that. I've always thought men from the bronze race were tasty. Really honey, what can I do for you?


Eric: ...can you make me human?
Himemiya: *sigh* It's a waste, but if that's what you want...


Valentine: Oh no! What am I going to tell Ash?


Commentary:
Pygmalion was a character from greek mythology who sculpted a woman so perfect he fell in love with her. After wasting away, Aphrodite took pity on him and made her real. The alternate title I was debating was 'Be Careful What You Wish For' because it has ominous overtones which would be well suited to the story, because you know this is going to result in trouble. However, that was too cliche, so I went with Pygmalion.

The scene where Ravish is asking a favor of Nightshade parodies both prayer and the Godfather movie.

The Bronze race: in the creation stories involving the Jinn, often there is another race of men created before humans, the race of bronze--the best metal available to the cultures at the time. These guy show up in a lot of mythology from different cultures around the Mediterranean. Eric is obviously not of this race, but he is a machine so would appear so to Himemiya. They had more human like lifespans, unlike the Jinn.
