Shadow: This is the coolest thing ever! I should have broken my leg sooner!
Ash: Glad you like it.


Ash: There's a lot of upgrades I'd like to try if you're interested. And not busy, of course.

 

 

 

 


Eric: *sigh*


Ash: Hey Eric, what's up? More human troubles?


Eric: Yeah... I'm confused.


Ash: About what?
Eric: I don't know if I can tell you.
Ash: Of course you can tell me. You can tell me anything.


Eric: It's about a girl. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with her, but I don't know how she feels about me. And there's this other girl who I keep getting angry at me, and I don't know how, and I don't know why it even bothers me.
Ash: Hmm...


Ash: I don't know about the second girl, but you should just tell the first girl how you feel. Otherwise, how will you ever know how she feels about you?
Eric: Really?


Ash: Yeah. Nothing's worse than not knowing.
Eric: I-
Ash: And at least then it's over with. There's none of the weird flirting and dropping hints and conspiring behind someone's back. I can't stand crap like that. Either you like someone and they like you, or you don't and you get over it.


Ash: Like Valentine. She's been acting all weird for months and months! She even went to Obsidian and asked her what kind of person I'd be interested in, as if I wouldn't just tell her. We're friends! I mean, I don't like girls, but I still love Valentine, and I'd be nice about it. I just don't like relationships.
Eric: ...what?


Ash: Valentine. I think she has a crush on me.
Eric: No she doesn't. She's just trying to help this um... person, she knows who likes you.
Ash: You know about this too?! Why doesn't anyone tell me these things!

Ash: Wait... if it's not Valentine... then...
Eric: I wanted to tell you, I'm sorry-
Ash: ...it's that weird lesbian friend of hers from the animal shelter! Now it all makes sense!

Eric: *sigh*


Eric: ...yep, that's her.
Ash: This is great! It means Valentine isn't in love with me!


Ash: Thanks for helping me clear that up Eric. I know I can depend on you; you're the only person around here who definitely isn't in love with me!
Eric:...right. You're welcome.

Eric: *sigh*



Commentary:
I feel like there should have been a middle segment between the Ash & Shadow and Ash & Eric scenes to give them more definition, but none of the other characters are going to have quite short enough plot sections to go in between without making it an overly long chapter.

You'll notice that Eric was making like he was going to put his arm around Ash for a little while there. Poor Eric.
