Shirring and smocking are techniques to beautifully gather otherwise loose clothing to fit snugly at certain points, and is impossible to do in miniature. That is, impossible to do the same way you'd do it for people! This pattern re-invents the technique for miniature sewing and shows you how to do it in this cute pattern--with lots of pictures to help you along the way.
Patterns Included: Shirred or smocked dress with multiple lengths/necklines, fullness & ruffle options Body Variations this pattern fits: Adult proportioned 1/3 dolls in resin/vinyl (see chart). Supplies needed: 1/3 yard fabric, thread/sewing supplies, narrow ribbon or woven elastic (optional) Difficulty: Intermediate (learning how to fake shirr)

Awesome, love it, making it for a doll that is bigger than barbie but skinnier, and with a slightly bigger but. I love this doll, but she is making me crazy with the pattern adjustments. I think I can make this one for her without too much insanity.
Love this pattern - I will get it to fit my doll - even if i have to remake it twenty times - the pattern is awesome - the doll just has some seriously weird measurements!
Another purchase for my weird measurment doll. I will get this to fit her - one way ot another! Love the instructions for the smocking - great way to get that detail.
